HTML stands for HyperText Markup Language, and it is the most widely used language to write Web Pages. 

 HTML is the combination of Hypertext and Markup language. Hypertext refers to the link between the web pages. Markup language defines the text document within the tag which defines the structure of web pages. We will know about Hypertext and Markup Language Below one by one.


Hypertext:-

Hypertext refers to the way in which Web pages within the website and other website’s web pages (HTML documents) are linked together. Thus, the link available in text on a webpage is called Hypertext.


Markup language:-

Markup Language which means you use HTML to simply “mark-up” a text document with tags that tell a Web browser how to structure it to display to users.

What is an HTML element:-

An HTML element is defined by a start tag, some content, and a Closing tag!

 Example:-    

< tag Name>  some content here </tag Name>

<p> This is Paragraph element in HTML </P>             

Note:-  Some HTML element have no content ( like <br> element ). These elements are called Empty elements. Empty elements do not have a closing tag!


What software should need to start Learning HTML?:-

If you have decided to Learn HTML then need a text editor to write your HTML document. You can use desktop applications such as Notepad, word processors, to manipulate code by hand If you have a Mac with OS X, you can use TextEdit.

  • Atom by Github
  • Sublime text
  • Notepad++
  • PyCharm
  • Notepad

 

Other than a text editor, you need an Internet browser to see the html files which you have already because you’re reading this article.

  • Microsoft Edge
  • Opera
  • Safari for Apple

The purpose web browser:-

The purpose of a web browser is to read HTML documents and display them correctly to users.  A browser does not display the HTML tag But uses them to determine how to display the document on the browser window to users

Note:- Only the content inside the <body> section will be displayed in a browser viewport.
